Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve is under the administrative control of the Field Director (Chief Conservator of Forests), who reports directly to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) / Chief Wildlife Warden at the headquarters in Chennai.
The Field Director is assisted by a team of dedicated officers who manage territorial jurisdiction, protection, law enforcement, intelligence collection, coordination, eco-development activities, forest rights, and public grievance systems.
The reserve is under the overall administrative control of TN Forest Department. The Field Director is responsible all the operations in the reserve which includes Forest Management, Research and other allied activities. For management efficiency, the reserve is divided into two divisions, each headed by a Deputy Director
Administrative structure of Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve
Chaired by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, with the Minister of Forests as Vice-Chairperson. This committee provides overall policy guidance for tiger conservation, ensures coordination and oversight mechanisms, and undertakes strategic conservation planning.
Established as a trust to facilitate management and community integration. The foundation focuses on community involvement and engagement, eco-development initiatives, and provides support to frontline staff for habitat management and conservation activities.
Chaired by the Field Director at the landscape level, the Tiger Cell is responsible for intelligence monitoring and collection, wildlife offence tracking, and mortality assessment and analysis to ensure effective protection of tiger populations.
Mandated to oversee and guide eco-tourism development with a focus on sustainable practices, ensuring economic benefits to local communities and providing support to tribal and fringe communities living around the reserve.
